Fishing the pier can be fun, especially if you have the family or a group of friends going with you. There are many types of fish you can catch from the pier, Ladyfish, mackerel, bluefish, jack, sheapshead, cobia, and plenty of lizard and pin fish and many more. Another good thing there is normally bait shops close by so if your using live bait and you run out no problem, and like I said if you have the family and they get board fishing normally there is a beach near by to send them to so it works out for everyone.

Beach fishing is great I have caught tons of different types of fish from the beach. SW Florida is one giant beach so there’s a lot of places to fish and you can target all types. Normally you can see some birds feeding on bait were medium sized school fish are most likely feeding underneath. You can also go for much bigger fish if you have a way to get your bait out there, this is when a surfboard or kayak comes in useful 9 out of 10 times if I am fishing the beach I will have a rod set up for shark and a smaller rod that I can use for other fish or bait anyone that has fished for big fish/shark knows waiting can be very boring having that second rod gives you something to do. There is also Fly Fishing im not a fly fisherman so I cant give you the heads up on it but I will post a couple links to check out.

I love fishing the bays and the rivers there are so many places to fish when you have a boat. The normal inshore fishing boats fun anywhere from about 12- 20 foot but you can use any type of boat as long as it can get through the shallow waters and the sand bars. There are all kinds of fish to catch when you can get up along island under the mangroves and around the bars. don’t think that you have to go offshore to catch all the big fish I have caught big Snapper, Grouper, and even landed a 5 foot bull shark in 2 feet of water.
